Food & Nutrition

We serve delicious home cooked meals inspired by a variety of different cultures. As a result, our children get to discover an exciting range of tastes, smells and textures. By keeping our menus interesting we aim to teach our children that trying new food is exciting, not scary, and that healthy ingredients can be transformed into something amazing! Our menus rotate on a four-week basis, to ensure your child can enjoy a wide range of high-quality food. They are also designed for inclusion and we offer options to support dietary/allergy requirements and cultural preferences.

Children who bring packed lunches are encouraged to follow our healthy eating policy.

Routines

We find this is the topic that can cause parent/carers the most anxiety. We spend lots of time with you, asking you questions and getting to know your child’s personal routine. We follow that routine at nursery as best we can. Sometimes in a different environment, babies will adopt their own routine, slightly different to home. Your child will be provided with bottles and offered sleep time at the times you have established in your routine at home. Some babies have no routine; others have a very strict one. We will work with you to ensure you and your child are happy.

Sleep

Calm tranquil rest is a prerequisite for babies and younger children. Each child has their own bed linen which is regularly laundered in house. We operate rigid and recorded checking procedures to ensure constant safety and care for your child following our safer sleep policy.  At all times we endeavour to adhere to your desired and established sleep patterns and routines.

Older children are also offered sleeps and if they need to nap, they can do so on our sleep mats, whenever they need to.

Parent/Carer Partnerships

We pride ourselves on the partnerships we build with our parents and carers.  We see the child’s learning journey through our nurseries as a time of sharing experiences and information between the nursery staff and parents.

We enjoy a range of activities that vary between the nurseries, but all hold parents weeks/meetings and opportunities for you to come into nursery e.g bake sales, afternoon tea, fairs. We have found that these give us the opportunity to talk and get to know each other, this then helps us to ensure each child is cared for individually.

FAQ

How early do I need to put my child’s name down for a place?

We recommend as soon as possible to secure your place as the nurseries can fill up very fast.

How do I book a place for my child?

You can contact our nursery managers by telephone or email to arrange to have a look around the nursery and complete the paperwork.

Can my child visit before starting their sessions?

To ensure a smooth transition into nursery we recommend at least 3 settling-in visits for all children to enable them to adapt to their new surroundings and to meet staff and children in the room.
